The Books have Arrived

What a great feeling it was to hold the book today!  First time ever.  My order arrived today, so anyone else who has ordered one should be getting theirs very soon.  We're so sorry for the delay, but it was beyond our control.  We were at the mercy of our publisher to do some rewrites, then wait for changes to be implemented, and wait and wait and wait some more.  But the book is in print, and I have copies.

Curt and I are thrilled that we've been given the opportunity to share what we've learned so others may not have to suffer from clergy misconduct--or any type of misconduct by an authority figure.  People need to know what's happening to unsuspecting victims.  We hope our story brings awareness to many and hope to many more.

God has been guiding us--He's been with us on this journey, showing us the way.

Update on New Release Date

Our release date has been changed to Sept. 20 and books will begin shipping out then.  We're sorry for the delay, but it was beyond our control.  It'll be well worth the wait.  We're very excited.  Please feel free to leave any comments you have or email us with any questions.  We continue to appreciate your support.

The Cover is Ready for Print!

The cover for the book is so perfect, and we're thrilled that we had such a talented cover designer assigned to us from Publish America.  Having the cover now finished is such an amazing feeling.  Here's where things start moving quickly into the final publication phase.  We're hoping that the book will be available through Amazon.com by August 1, and the official release date will be shortly after that.

Letting the world know Curt's story, as he saw it, will aid others seeking answers and looking for information, just as he did so many years ago.  When deception smothers a person, reaching out to another in a similar situation can be a source of relief, to some degree.   The book will answer many of the questions Curt has been asked over the years, and it is the fastest way to get the information to the public.  We feel that the need for this book is so important in today's world, and we're excited to know that it will soon be available for all to read.

We look forward to comments from our readers!

Happy Fourth of July from Curt!

I placed out my dad's military flag this 4th of July morning and sat down.  As soon as I sat down, a cool breeze came through and caused the flag to move ever so gently. Just a little breeze caused a little movement.  The thoughts that poured into my head caused me write this blog.  My dad defended this country in combat many years ago, and he loved this country very much.  I know that my dad is very proud of the fact that I have defended my family, as he defended his country. I love my family as I love this country. I hope our book will be an inspiration to all families to never give up hope and to continue to pray to God for guidance and patience.

In the beginning, I was all alone in calling out for help.  It was a very lonely existence, but I never gave up the hope to be heard and my family to be rescued. Over the years, some people turned away from me because my family's stories were too horrific to hear over and over again. So most of them turned away from my four daughters and me because they didn't know what to do or say. They felt that if what I was reporting was true, surely the church would step in and help.  How naive we were.  The book is also a thank you to the many support groups that have helped my family, advocating that clergy misconduct is wrong and their defense to make all families stronger and safer.
In closing, I want to thank everyone for visiting our book site and helping to raise awareness of clergy misconduct, and the devastating effects on the victims and entire family network. I hope that someday others will help us in the battle to defend all families against clergy misconduct and abuse.  My personal prayer to God is for the book to help save even just one family the trauma my family has endured.

With liberty and justice for all,
Curt Szajnecki.  .

PS. As always my heart goes out to Helen for defending my family with her words and her love!!

Excitement is Mounting - Along with many emotions

As we move closer to completing the process of publishing Curt's story, he's finding the emotional drain to be overwhelming at times.  We received our first review today from a published author.  His comment that the story is "riveting, spellbinding, and it'll take your breath away and at the same time will shock you," brought tears to Curt's eyes.

We've been preparing for the book's release and getting our promotional strategy in place, including searching for movie producers to take a look at it.  Curt contacted Janet Patterson from SNAP today, and once again, Janet has come through with sound advice and the positive reinforcement Curt needs right now.  I want to thank her for that and for always being there when we need her.

We're on the roller coaster, and there's no turning back now.  It's not going to get any easier for Curt, but with our friends and relatives support, he'll get through.  He's tough--as those who know him know!!  Curt can use any support from his friends and readers right now to help him get through this journey.

Thanks to everyone responding to our blog.  There's so much more to come!

Welcome!

Welcome to our guest book and to the preview of our novel, Innocence Betrayed - A Dad's Story of Clergy Misconduct.  The book was written over a seven-year period of time through very tumultuous times in the life of my co-author, Curt Szajnecki.  The story was intertwined with the lives of many different characters in difficult situations.  I never thought it'd be possible to put it all together, but we succeeded and will soon be published.

There were many emotional breakdowns by Curt throughout the processes of writing his story, but he has courageously maintained his sense of humor and always got back on track as I pushed him for more and more details for the story.  Yes, I was relentless, but we've put together a book that will hopefully aid those abused by clergy with our detailed reporting of what worked and what didn't work in our pursuit of making church administrators responsible for their non-action regarding a minister out of control and how a person can survive the battle.

We hope you find our first novel, not only informative, but also one that is difficult to put down.
